MEASUREMENT CHANGES THAT WILL DIFFERENTIATE THE UNIT PRICE IN PRODUCTS OFFERED TO THE CONSUMER ARE NOW CONSIDERED DECEPTIVE COMMERCIAL PRACTICE

In accordance with the Regulation published in the Official Gazette and on 03.02.2021, a new clause has been added to the section titled “A- Deceptive Commercial Practices” in the “Sample Practices Accepted as Unfair Commercial Practices” of the Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices Regulation.

In accordance with the new clause added; Although changes have been made to one of the elements of quantity, length, weight, area, volume measures and so on to differentiate the unit price of a product offered to consumers, misleading packaging practices that give the impression that no changes have been made will now be considered deceptive commercial practices.

The relevant article entered into force on 01.04.2021.
